I find "hope" in reading the Bible and turning to God. Even then, we are humans and we can't help but worry and hurt but I find that God does give me strength. He sees and knows everything and can make a difference.
Sometimes when I really get down I will ask a christian friend to pray for me and everytime I do it gets better. God loves you and your son. I will pray for you and your son.

Welcome Judylyn. and Jan..it doesn't matter how old they are, we moms still worry. My daughter is 4 yrs into a 10yr sentence but we have hopes of getting out at 8 1/2. We have survived 4 yrs and it is with Faith in God and the friends I made here and the few on the outside who stood by my side that I have gotten this far and can manage. Hi Judylyn and welcome to the group. My 23 year old son was sentenced last year to 9 years. He is in a federal prison in Texas. I know it is so hard to accept that your son will be spending several years away in prison. We will all be here to help you during that time. Blessings, Faithflower

I don't know how you all do it! Its only been 30 days, trial not even in sight and I am devastated. Literally falling apart. How do you face 5, 10, 15 years? You have my admiration and my prayers for each of you.

It was definitely harder at first... I remember spending a lot of time in bed!! My daughter's sentencing trial (one year after she went to jail) was soooooo devastating to me! I think I missed about a month or six weeks of life just trying to get through each day. I wasn't using this site until I had already gone through that. I wish I had starting sooner! Now it has been a year and 9 months and I have adjusted, though I still have my moments and I am sure I always will. It is good that you are here now, where so much help and empathy is available to you! I will be praying for you, as I am sure many here will. Love, Regina
