My daughter has been out of my life for 18 months now. She managed to keep my grand daughter away from me for the 1st year. My daughters exboyfriend contacted me and asked what was going on. He gets to see his daughter every other sunday and my grand daughter has been doing alot of crying at his house because her mother told her I dont love her anymore and she would never see me again. My heart was broken that she would hurt her own child in such a way. He invited me to see her at his house and I went. I knew this was going to cause problems because my grand daughter went home and told her mother she spent the day with me. My daughter stopped letting her father see her as a way of punishing him. I was really angry so I hired a lawyer for him to go back to court and change the custody arrangements to give him more time. I understood this arrangement when my grand daughter was 1 because her father was very immature and she was a baby but now she is 8 and her home life is horrible. Her mothers new boyfriend does not like her and he is her primary care giver while her mother works. I am catching alot of heat from family for going against my daughter and supporting her ex but this is about whats best for my grandaughter. I am moving across the country in May and I need this situation fixed before I leave. Say a prayer for us hopefully the judge will grant my grand daughters father more custody and more visitation time. No child should be left in the care of a person who dislikes them.
