My disabled son cut me out of his life I'm Afraid

My son is disabled and has always been a good son life was not easy being full time care giver and full time working mum.   We only have each other but we loved each other deeply and was always there for each other.    I asked him to consider supported living as he can not cope on his own and I was so very tired.   


He's gone take off and moved in with two drag queens he met online I hear they are taking all his money from him and leaving him sleeping in the lounge.   He doesn't even have a key to get into the house where he's staying.  He's thin and sickly with no money for a doctor.


He barely talks to me in 4 months I've talked to him once but he won't let me on his life at all.  He says he's fine to leave him alone some screams it at me. 


I'm so confused lost and alone I don't know as a mother what am I supposed to do now?

This is a sad story, Helen, and I know you are very upset. Is he disabled enough that he would fall into needing a guardian? If you feel he is being abused, contact the adult protective services department in your country or state, similar to child protective services. They can investigate if he is okay and if he needs a guardian, they'll take it to the probate courts and ask the judge and then the guardian will be able to place him in a good living environment. I think if he is screaming at you, it might be wise to not engage with him and protect yourself a bit. Take someone with you to go visit him, etc. It kind of sounds like he is taking all his anger at life out on you.

You hit the nail on the head as of yesterday I approached protective services as yes while he can appear the same as everyone else his emotional level is that of an 8 year old. However he has to he treated as an adult until such time as he shows he can't manage his life. The police are currently investigating the people that are influencing him, they have been trying to get money out of me, my son will be furious at me for calling protective services but as these people won't let me see him I've lost nothing further. I miss my son so much. I wish I could make it go away and have him beside me again saying mommy I love you. I'm very confused about this sudden banishment from his life and I feel for every parent on here I never knew what a wide spread issue this was.
