Parents of estranged adult children Community Group
One or more of our adult children walked out of our lives and never looked back.
Merry Christmas to all who stop by this forum

Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all the parents who are dealing with estrangement and difficult situations with their adult children. This time of year can be very sad or depressing to parents when the estrangement is looming in our minds and hearts. The myth is that all good families get together and enjoy rapturous holiday meals, gift giving, etc. You are not alone, we are not alone, in this age of estrangement. I'll be thinking of everyone.

Christmas can be especially difficult when there is no contact. We must move forward and try to get through this difficult time.

Happy New Year! The holidays are so difficult. My husband died almost 6 years ago. My oldest daughter and her family moved away then decided to go no contact six months ago. It isn’t the first time. I miss her and my 5 year old grandchild. I do have another daughter who stays in contact but she lives away also. I’m taking it one day at a time. That’s all I can do.

My husband died around 6 years ago as well and my grown children all get together and do not ask me. I feel very alone as well. Its not straight out estrangement but hear from them when they need something. One daughter does not like me so..its hard when your own children do not like you. I went through guilt about everything for too long and believe I am ready to try and start a new life without them. They used to be my everything but seems life can be full of surprises so am thinking more positive now after 10 years of this. There is something else.
