Hi, Bella...an old member, now re-joined, here...Nina, jazzlady1028...I had changed my handle to "reachingforhope" last year, but then became inactive for awhile. So that handle may have vanished. And now - this rather strangely redone site! I can't understand it too well, either...but what I did, to find "PEACE" again since I didn't find an option to do a search here, was Google "Daily Strength Parents of Estranged Adult Children Everywhere" - and finally, I got here and joined again.
There were a number of members I knew here, at least on the site if not more personally - guess I'll have to try and re-connect with them. Luckily, I found that many appear on my Friends page.
And, to answer a post...apparently you have to click on the Subject - I clicked on "confused" and got to where I could answer you. Otherwise - right, there's no way! I liked the old site a lot better. How are you doing? I'd like to add you as a Friend, and send you a hug. I'm doing OK, but my relationship with my older daughter, while we're no longer estranged, is always unpredictable - it's like just when I think there is an iota of progress, some slight closeness that could be built on, it just fizzles right out again when I text or e-mail and get no response at all until I give in and try her again. If I ask why I didn't hear back from my texts or e-mails, even if it's about something important (my mom/her grandma is ailing & now in a nursing home, with advancing dementia now, & there has been a lot to deal with - luckily, my daughter is helping, visiting periodically & in particular, working on the long process of clearing out the lovely, beautifully-appointed apartment) - I risk getting a defensive response. Well - at least, things are a lot better than they were - at least, there's a joint project now.
I'm very thankful for her help - but I can't really confuses me when she goes "incognito" like she does. But then again, I'm not a popular person. I have very few friends and get almost no phone calls...so that part is always tough. I do have a nice 2nd husband, tho', & that helps. Well - I would love to hear from you & know more about your story - sounds like you have an ES - so I hope you'll write me here very soon. Sending <<hugs>> your way.
Oops - when I said "sounds like you have an ES" - I was seeing the post "imissmyson" rather than the original post by Bella, which was way up above. This new site design will take some getting used to, that's for sure. Well - to both of you I'm glad to make your acquaintance! Sending hugs & thoughtful wishes & I hope to hear from both of you. Would you add me as your friend?...Hope so!!
