I read your post and I know it was a bad day for you. Today of all days, at least I did, we want things to go smooth, but that doesn't always happen. My daughter had several whiney and crying fits throughout the day, but in the end of it all, it was a good day. I know things become just too much to take on certain days, but it is on those days that I try to focus on what we have accomplished with our daughter. Today I thought she is sleeping through the night again and I thanked God for that. She is retaining what she is learning and I am grateful for that too. It's hard to always stay positive, but when I try to find one thing that is good, God will show me more than one. I pray for you tonight, I honestly do and having felt angry and hopeless at my daughter's worst days, I know I have thought I would just give up. Above all I pray for peace in your heart. Tomorrow is a new day and I hope it goes a lot better for you. So sorry you had a rough day and I hope you get some rest.

Maybe next year ;)
I am sorry you had such a bad day. It's a Halmark Holiday anyway... I am sure you are a great mother and do not need a "special" day to assure you of that! my3blessings is correct... tomorrow is a new day!
Know that you're not alone in going through all of this. The only reason I had some peace yesterday was because my husband took the kids out much of the day. However, when our son came back and faced the reality of homework, all hell broke loose. He slammed his door over and over again. Good times.
For what it's worth, we all appreciate your hard work as a mom!
This year we planned to go see Thor on Saturday, we saw maybe 20 minutes of the movie when my soon to be 7 year old stood up and said "I gotta throw up!" Well of course you do, right before the scene where he doesn't have a shirt on lol. I have to give him credit he ran for it and at least made it out of the theatre! I felt bad for him, he was so upset about ruining the movie. Then Sunday morning he decides to wake up even earlier than usual. Every morning he wakes up and starts talking talking talking before he ever gets out of bed, he is on the other side of my wall and he always wakes me up. He is talking and then starts crying and carrying on I got up to see what was wrong and he says "Mother's Day is ruined, it's raining!" I am thinking, it's only 6am, do we have to do this right now? He calmed down but there was no going back to sleep for me. Then he spent the next several hours asking to go see the movie. I tried to get them to clean up their room by saying that we would go to the movie if they did that. It ended up just being an argument between the two of them and a whole lot of "My brother's not helping" Did I really think that two boys with ADHD would clean their room and be considerate just because it was "Mother's Day"? I love them so much, but yes it would be nice to have at least one special day actually be special.
Your post made me smile. I would have loved to wake up to a breakfast in bed, kids cleaning the house without complaining....really this was my plan(wishful thinking)...Get up go to church, come home and sleep all day! NEVER gonna happen, but at least I got to eat awesome food at my brother in law's house.(hehe) But God is good and yes it could have been worse so I thank God that the worse part was a couple of crying fits for no apparent reason. I am so glad I found this support group. On my worst days, I feel encouraged and knowing I am not alone makes such a huge impact on my life. JennS, I hope your week goes better. :)
