problem with wetting pants

My 6 yr old has had a real problem lately with wetting her pants during the day and once recently at night. She has always had a ocassional accident but today they called me twice from daycare that she wet her pants. I had sent 1 change of clothes but the last hour she sat in wet pants. I have a couple theories of what the problem might be but I wanted an opinion from others who had this problem. 1. the doctor took her off her adderall for the summer because of risks of heart problems in the heat. She did ask to take it one day because she said she needed it and she did take one and did not have an accident. 2. She is going to a different daycare for the summer because the program she was going to at her school doesn't operate during the summer and so she is going to a different school and none of the other kids are there. She cries every morning that she doen't want to go. This started the very first day. I hoped that once she got to know some of the kids and ey started field trips she would be alright but it's been 7 days and there are tears every morning. I have started to look for another daycare. 3. She could ave a bladder infection and I do have a doctors appointment to have her checked out. 4. It could be a combination of one and two or the added stress at home because I've ha her 4 and 5 yr old boy cousins here for the last month and they do cause chaos alot of the time.

Hi Oreogram,My 5 yr old son, who has been diagnosed with ADHD/ODD/Asperger, still wets his pants from time to time, he has also lately been pooing his pants, and then he puts his hands down his pants, and wipes it on the wall, or where ever he happens to be. Its frustrating, I have now got to a stage where we are going back to being 3, where he has to tell me when he has a poo, so I can go in and wipe him properly. This has only been happening since he's been on retalin, but I don't know if that has anything to do with it , I will be speaking to her in early July, will keep you updated.

i recentley went through this with my son(7 dx with adhd & bp) he was peeing and pooping in his pants at school several times a week for about 3 weeks. i asked a friend of mine(here on ds) if she could offer advice, and she had gone through this with her son too! it turned out to be a "phase" and we have had no problems with this in a while. i know its frustrating, but hang in there it does get better!! good luck!

My son would have accidents in response to any change in routine. He is 14 now and still has occasional accidents, but he is old enough to clean it up by himself now. He tends to soil himself more often than wetting. He was tested for all sorts of problems related to the accidents and finally I just had to realize that I would be purchasing new underpants regularly to replace the ones he threw out...he used to hide them in strange places and I would have to search for the source of smell. Getting him to wash them was impossible, he wouldn't give them to me and a designated bucket was also a failure. I had to make a choice and arguing with him and consequences were not working.

He does better now at using the toilet and sometimes at wiping. He still takes his siblings underpants when he runs low. I restock drawers every three months or so. We go through the wash it out and put it in the wash routine from time to time when something comes through soiled. I feel it is an achievement that he is not stuffing the soiles underpants in places any more...one step at a time.

Good luck...having my son wash the walls each time he wiped poo on them has been somewhat successful. I think it has been because of the consistency of him doing it. It seems that repetition has been key to all of the success that I have had with the behaviors of my children.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
