I have been a part of DS for over a year, but just joined this group. I am thankful to have found this group. I have a 7 year old that was diagnosed ADHD when he was 5. We have recently discoverd that he has a very high IQ and he is going to be in Gifted and Talented at his school next year. I have heard that this is starting to be very common for children with ADD/ADHD to also be gifted. I know my son better than anyone and I knew there was something not typical. I also work with children, I own a child development center and the development of children in all areas from social to physical to emotional has been my specialty. I recognized differences and finally had them confirmed. If you would like to know more about me and my son and what we go through I have posted journals on my profile. It is nice to know that there are parents that I can go to and relate to when it comes to these issues.
