Makes me wonder why. The med works wonders and has little side effects. Plus my son still has his personality.
My 9 year old daughter has been on Adderall XR 30 mgs for one year and has devolped a habit of constantly clearing her throat and has lost about 30 lbs (she was overweight before starting meds and is now at weight she should be for her height.. she is 5"1 and 100 lbs.. was 130). Due to this, her Doc feels like we should try a diff med. He prescribed her 15 mg Dex and after reading the side effects (WHY DO I DO THAT?? LoL) I chickened out on giving her the first dose. I am going to do it in the AM since online I have read that Dex is pretty much half of Adderall XR. Will let you know how it goes!!! =-)
I also have a 10 year old daughter on biphentin and so far so good because she was on adderall xr but it made her really moody!
My 7 year old son was on dexidrine and it just stoped working and because he is so small we couldn't up the dose so they swiched him to adderall xr and it works wonders for him! ( loved the dixidrine for him wish he could have stayed on it)
My friends 10 year old daughter is also on dexidrine but she is on the short acting and it works well but she has to take it twice a day and then she has nothing in her system when homework time comes that is why i like the long acting!
Dexidrine is at most 8 hours for long acting!
Biphentin is 10-12 hours!
Adderall xr is 10-12 hours also!
Sorry so long if you ever want to talk message me!!
Hugs from my family to yours!!
