My daughter was told that putting her son (who has ADHD) into a sport that he liked would help. Also, he has joined Cub Scouts. He is only and is always saying he has no friends. We even had a therapist tell us putting him in Karate would be great. I thought that was strange but they told us that it will teach him discipline etc. These are some thoughts for me.
I know how bad you feel as I feel the same way. My grandson is a great kid as well and I always had tons of friends. Just hope and pray they can both find friends soon.

My gs had trouble making friends as well. He's 9 and I don't think the other kids "get" him. His behavior is calm 90% of the time. He doesn't like people picking on other people or him, and sorry to say this happens a lot in school. I have found that maybe one or two "good" friends is a lot better than several friends. Hopefully he will find a couple of kids he can trust and like to be around - they are out there! He is now in Boy Scouts and really enjoys that, even though there are those kids in his pack who just can't behave no matter what. Hope he finds a friend he can trust and feel comfortable with.

thanks for the advise, its tough to get a 14 year old to do boy scouts. he does do a sport, however, it is in another town, so he has friends there, but nobody he would socially call, or go out with, thank you all for your support. ill keep praying
