I am so pissed off right now. Jacob had a friend Taevon I was just told by his motherr that Jacob is bad influnce on him. I could not believe what she just said to me. Let me give you a little back story on this I let this women and her two children stay at my house after her husband beat her. Her kid stayed out untill 9:00PM and andhe did this twice and not to mention this child is 8 yrs old and my son is a bad infulence. My son as only lied when he was protecting him. I just want to scream. My son has never run away or has done anything like that. I think he may be acting out at her house when he comes home because he does not want to be there. Just last weekend he came over wnting to stay the night becasue his grandmother slaped him in the face and told to leave the house and never come back . Man this sucks no good deed goes unpunished,

sounds like a big mess and people just saying things on a whim. i get it, ive been there, but if you just sit back, dont respond, say nothing. dont even acknowlege this ridiculousness, you will be surprised how much quicker it dissolves.. good luck

Hi Liz, I think this comes with the territory. Once people know our kids have issues they automatically label them and disect their behaviors to fit that label. My son's resource teacher from last year told me she had several parents call her over the summer to request that their kid not have any classes with my son. That was really hard to take. Hopefully this boys mom will come to her senses and really see the big picture. I am sure watching your father beat your mother is a much worse influence on a child than anything. Hold you head up and keep going.

I think this woman needs a healthy dose of reality, she needs to be getting counselling and support for her abused children not blaming bad behaviour on any other child. Her children were living in an abusive home and since leaving it, her 8 year old has been slapped across the face- what is she doing to actually help her children?
I'm sorry to hear that she would suggest it has anything to do with your son, that's just wrong on so many levels. I would also remind her just who it was that was there for her and her kids, and that this is very unfair of her, not to mention that she needs to make sure her son isn't hit again- grandma or not- it's not ok for that to happen.

I am a single parent with two ADHD boys, the combination of these two things equals my kids always being the problem. Once when my son was punched in the back and had his pants pulled down the school actually said it was an accident! My kids might have issues but they have never hit another child or done something mean like that.
