Parents of Children with ADHD Support Group
This community is designed as an open forum where the parents and guardians of children with ADHD (Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder) can give and receive support, as well as discuss ideas, techniques, concerns, surprises, and challenges they may face with their children.
I’m so sorry to hear about your son. Have you tried to encourage him to join a life group for teens? In my church, we have teens who are also going through different phases of lives and attending a life group helped them to improve their mood.
One of the teens I know has depression and another teen has self-esteem issues. Because they are all teens, they are comfortable sharing their life experiences with one another and they uplift one another.
You can also join a life group for adults so you can connect with other parents. In my experience, having a life group helps me not to feel alone especially when I am going through problems. Counselling is also a great idea.
I hope you can get the help you need. Thank you for reaching out, I hope you will find comfort here. Keep sharing,
Thank you for your suggestions and empathy. I have tried to have him be part of a teen group and he refused. My son has been in counseling since he was 5 and still has trust issues. I also do counseling but its been difficult. I am currently looking to be part of a life group for adults with special needs children.
