A safe group for Mothers and Fathers of addicts, where we can share feelings, and ask for feedback.

My son is still using and living on assistant in a housing place for the hard to house. His basic needs are covered at least. It's still very sad. Not a great place at all. I'm sure he's the youngest but its hard to tell. He's 33 now. Slim and well.. still handsome I'd say as his mother. His health is not great. I cry when i see him and he cried last time. I was hoping it was a good sign he showed emotion. I never stop hoping although he's not agreeing to treatment. I don't know much he uses but I do think it's fairly often. I'll carry on. Nothing else to do until he wants it. After being homeless two years does he have a bottom?? Mental health is much worse .
I try to keep myself busy and I work. I think of him most mornings.
It's nice to be understood here with our troubles, guilt we carry, and pain. I wish the best for us here caretakers of sorts; loving from a distance.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

"""Take this from me and look upon it, judging it for me.
Let me not see it as a sign of sin and death, nor use it for destruction.
Teach me how NOT to make it an obstacle to Peace,
But let YOU use it for me, to facilitate it's coming."""
You can clearly see what his addiction is doing to him but look at what it is doing to you. You need alot of support for yourself and if you feel you cannot get enough here, then naranon or alanon are great places to find that support.

We will keep you and your son in our thoughts and prayers.
