It's horrible to lose a child any time but especially difficult to addiction. He was a huge part of my life. I had my boundaries and still tried to help. I am left feeling guilty for what I may have done or not done. He was a loving kind person through it all.. I'd take the anxiety and worry over this unbearable grief any day. Seven months my Nick Forever35 has been gone.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

You have my deepest sympathy for your loss. I had just lost my best friend to addiction and it helped to trigger an addiction to drugs and alcohol. I had spent 3 days in the hospital from a drug overdose not knowing if I was going to survive to live another day. 14 years later, here I am....sober and alive.
I remember my AA sponsor telling me "No matter how well you think you know a man, you never know what's inside his head!" That was the right thing to say to me at that time because had I known, I would have done something to prevent the loss of others close to me.
We never really know why these kind of things happen in life so I just accept things as they are which is the first step in healing from the emotional pain.
I don't believe that life begins at birth and ends at death, and with good reason! Although you can't see your son, he is as close to you as your next breath and do not feel guilty because there is nothng you could have done to prevent what happened.
I will keep you and your son in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless
Still great people on here. I am happy to know you.
