A safe group for Mothers and Fathers of addicts, where we can share feelings, and ask for feedback.
I recently read a new book called "Crystal Clear" by Eric LeMarque. I borrowed it from the library but you can purchase it.
It's an inspiring story of a former Olympic athlete and pro hockey player. He was addicted to meth crystals and to the snow crystals (he was a snowboarder). Both got him into trouble since the meth contributed to his unwise decision to take to the slopes when the conditions weren't safe.
Should you decide to read it - I hope it gives you hope. Although he had a dramatic experience - nearly losing his life - he was able to not only overcome his addiction, but is now happier and healthier than he had ever been.
I've been on a kick - seeking inspirational stories - movies - people. It gives me hope. Sometimes it's hard to see and believe that things will get better but we know that they do many times. If they didn't - we wouldn't have AA or treatment centers. It isn't a lost cause.
