Parenting 'Tweens (9-12) Support Group
This community is focused on the joys, challenges and concerns faced by parents of tweens (9 to 11 year olds). The major areas of child development include: physical development, perception and sensory development, communication and language development, cognitive development, emotional development and social development.
I didn't see her every day but just knowing I was safe with her and I could be myself around her made all the difference in the world.
I agree that being a grandparent can probably make you feel helpless when you have to stand back and watch your children fumble through parenthood...
If it's something that seems like abuse, that's different. Grandparents do have rights!
If what you can do is be a safe place and person for your granddaughter, that's much, much more important than you know! You're still a hero!
Oxford...you are not irrelevant to your grandkids. Take the initiative to do something with them often. Spending time with them will help them to know they are loved, sounds like they could use it.
I saw once on a church billboard sign "Worrying is praying for something you don't want to happen". made me think about it.
good "church sign"..i guess its true in a sense........
