My 12 year old has become just so difficult to manage. She's become so rude and disrespectful to me, Defiant too. She actually said she hates me several times and does all kinds of things to hurt me and make me mad. She's getting therapy but it only seems to make her madder. I just need to vent. I'm really upset and I just can't argue with her tonight; asthma has taken all my breathe away which is why I haven't confronted her. Hopefully things will improve. I'm just venting and sending out my wishes for peaceful resolutions for us all. Thanks for listening .

Wow, such a tough situation. Sending prayers and happy thoughts. I hope things are better. Maybe she is not liking what the therapist is telling her about her own behavior. Have they given you any insight?

Oh! Sorry to hear what you're going through. I can say, being around 12-14 year old students on a daily basis, that this too shall pass. Hang in there. Pre-teens / teens, especially girls, are trying to find their independence, and sadly enough, their immaturity gets in the way of them being able to express themselves. Maybe instead of just her seeing a therapist, you both go? Maybe having someone there to listen to how both of you are feeling may help your relationship. ?? Praying for you.

Thanks for the insight and support. I am not really thrilled with the therapy so far but we just started so I will hang in. To top it off, I ended up needing emergency heart surgery. Her godparents have been great and they know what I am dealing with. I know things will get better. I am so appreciative of your support. So glad I joined!

Oh my goodness! Hang in there. It will get better! I am not a counselor, but between puberty and you being sick, she could totally be going through some unforeseen stress. Just keep your chin up!

Hey everyone. Sorry it took me so long to reply. I really appreciate everyone's comments. I am trying. My daughter is too, unless she's hormonal, or upset over her friends, or whatever teenagers have to deal with these days. I try not to stress and let her get to me. Still trying the therapy and will hang in there to the end! But its nice to have this forum to seek support from those who know what I am going through! Thanks again. I am doing and feeling better- finally back to work!

I’ve been going thru the same with my 11 year old I started her on magnesium supplements which is supposed to help with mood swings, irritability, depression, anxiety and pms my sister swears by it she has had success with her teen daughter. Mine has only been on it a few days but I have notice a change in her irritability for sure
