I am so worried. my lil man has had the runs for a few days now. its almost white lookin. ive never seen this b4. he threw up on sat....and ever since then its been diarreah :( .. his lil butt is irritated and any movements hurt him. tonights guna be a rough night. idk what to do. what to make him more comfy. tomorrow im guna try to give him less milk and more things to help his stomach out. he doesnt even seem to be in pain, its just when he farts, stool comes out. its the weirdest thing :(

I know you from the HS forum, but like I have a 4 yr old daughter and 2 yr old. You need to get him to the ER SOON because if he has diarreah for too long he will dehydrate and that is what is dangerous and can kill him. You need decide if he is loosing more water than he is drinking. If he is then he needs to go to the ER and they may put him on an IV if he is already dehydrated. If not they have medicine, usually supposatories that you use and it will keep him from throwing up and stuff.

Sorry this sounds so urgent but you said has had the runs 'for a few days now' and that is too long. I would take mine to the ER like the end of the next day if they would not stop.

I'm sure he'll be fine and keep us posted!

Also the docs will probably say only clear fluids like water and sprite....no milk bc it will make him puke. Clear fluids until he gets better. Maybe chicken broth or something. Our bodies can go only a couple of days without water and a couple of weeks without food so he will not starve or anything!

I am not a doc but am a nursing school dropout, lol. Please take him in!

I would either be calling his doctor or taking him to the ER. white stools does not sound normal to me and since your little one has been this way for a few days, i would be very concerned and not wait any longer.

i emailed my docs and they told me nothing. but i just emailed them again, this is not normal. today is still the same crap! ..if they dont get back to me im def taking him to the ER. his lil butt is soo irritated he was uncomfy all nite. waking up crying and yelling. thats not normal for him.

i hope your son feels better soon. if i were in your position i would just take him to emerge rather then waiting on your doctor to get back to you.

I had the same thing. My little guy's poop looked like a Wendy's frosty - white and frothy. It means the liver is not producing enough bile, which makes the poop brown. I took my little guy to the doctor and he thought it might be an issue with milk. Took him to another doctor and she said there was a virus that impacted some kids in this way. Anyways, it went away but it does not hurt to take him to the doctor. Like you, I was really worried.
