Being a parent comes with so many changes. I felt similarly when my first child was this age. We also had one car, and I was home alone with my LO a lot. I had to find balance for my days. I live farther south than it sounds like you do, but I will give you my suggests and maybe you can get some inspiration. I would set a schedule for my LO. She ate at the same time every day. We had play times at the same time, and nap time at the same time. It gave both of us stability and we knew what to expect during the day. During playtime, we sometimes stayed at home and played inside. Sometimes we would walk to the park that way down the street or walk to the library which was a few blocks away for story time. Story time allowed me to meet other adults and have conversation before and after. During nap time, I would do something that I enjoyed so that I was refilling my cup so to speak so I had more to give my child. I would read a book, watch a movie, do crafts. I love to scrapbook so I would buy the supplies during the weekend when my husband was home to watch my LO, and then I could use them during the week. Sometimes I needed to take a nap also. Some days it was a bubble bath or a very long shower. Once in a while we would take my husband to work so we could have the car for the day. Then we would go to the mall and walk around with the baby in the stroller. I got some exercise, and my DD was entertained by the sights and sounds of everything going on. Some days after my husband came home, I would leave my daughter with him, and I would go get a cup of coffee or walk through a bookstore. Would it be possible for your friends to come over during the day and bring lunch so you can visit? Or could you schedule play dates for your LO with friends? They might could pick you up and you could ride together to an indoor playground or library. It does get better. I promise. This is a season. Your LO will grow and change and gain more independence all of the time. I hope you can find some creative ways to help meet your needs, too, while you are doing the tough job or raising another person. Hugs.

Right now, our housing situation is kind of a mess. In the house we're living in now, we aren't really allowed to have guests. So, having friends over is out. And unfortunately, because I'm a young mother (I'm about to turn 23), none of my friends have kids his age. I have friends that are older, but their kids are all in middle school, so not much luck with play dates. We used to go out with my brother a lot, but now he's travelling for work for 4 weeks then is only off for 1, and on his weeks off, he usually goes to visit his girlfriend on the other side of the country.

I like the story time idea though. For some reason it never occured to me to go to the library for that. Every other week or so my mother in law and I take my son to the indoor playground that the library here has. Maybe I should start making more frequent trips. The kid does love books.

I'm learning that I'm just not a huge fan of toddlers, though I do enjoy the random hugs and how proud my kid gets when he learns something new. I love watching him grow and getting to teach him new things. But the rest of it is just....hell.

I am sorry that you can't have guest over. Maybe if you meet new people at the library then play dates could be an option. Raising children is hard. It is very repetitious. I hope you can find what you need to take away your frustration and stress.

As you take your kid to the indoor playground why don't you make new mommy friends and meet them and just hang out with them at an indoor playground only? As you're young so it happens that your friends won't get married. Just try to make new mommy friends so due to this you'll get a new friend and get a chance to know some new things about your babies and like to apply it.

Woman you are preaching to the choir!! I have 4 children and while I feel blessed to stay home it can be so lonely and isolating. I worked really hard to get my degrees and I enjoy the social aspect or working. Plus honestly being a stay at home mom is by far the hardest job I’ve ever had!

I also experienced this a lot with my first child and still do to this current day. I am also a stay at home mom but to two young children; a 3 and 2-year-old. What I learned to do was make time for myself. Whether this included me driving to get a drink from Starbucks by myself when my husband got home from work or planning a day where maybe my husband could keep my kids while I had a few hours to myself. This has greatly assisted me in not feeling so isolated or lonely and gives me a refreshed and renewed feeling. While I am coming to the end of my time at home with my children (about to graduate with my masters and will begin work again soon), I feel it is essential that I always make time for myself apart from my children. I also agree with some of the other moms in regards to making routine scheduling and trying to get out more, even just for a morning or evening walk (I know it can be difficult when the weather does not permit).
