They make glasses for little ones now that are pretty resistant. Some of them have straps so they keep them on too. One of the little girls in my DS's preschool class wears them. She's so cute in them! I'm sure it will take some getting used to, but she'll be fine. Whether you pull your hair before then is another issue. ;-)

My niece started wearing glasses at 18 months due to severe cross eyes. The first week was very trying, but once she realized my sister was not going to let her take them off, she got used to them. And once she realized she could actually SEE her cartoons, she starting seeking them out after bathtime, etc. Now she is 5 and just adorable in them, and wears them all the time. Make sure you have a really good pediatric optometrist. She thought she did, and is now finding out that he has missed some pretty big stuff with her daughter's vision, so she is now seeing a specialist. Good luck!

My daughter is 2 1/2 yrs old and she just got glasses. It's funny because I think she wears them so well because she see's better with them. You will be surprised at how well she will do with them. Although I know in the beginning it's difficult but it will work out ok. She's had her glasses for 1 month and I don't have any problems getting her to wear them. I hope the same for you GOOD LUCK!

Try telling her how beautiful/pretty/cute - the word you use when she puts on a nice new outfit - in them. It may not help, but it may. And I agree, she'll probably get over having to wear glasses before you get over her having to wear glasses :-) You jut have to be firm.

My son started with glasses when he was 3 years old. We just knew that he would not want any part of it, but he has never wanted to be with out them since the first day. We were shocked at how good he did with his. His doctor said that many people are surprised that their kids do so well. It is helping the child and they seem to like that.

The man that sold us our son's glasses, claims that you can drop a bowling ball on them and they will not break. However, I am not going to try that out but I can say that those poor glasses have been through some abuse as wild as my little boy is, and they are still as good as new.

My daughter who turned 2 in October got her glasses last june at 20 months. Her left eye started crossing about this time last year. She was referred to a pediatric ophtamologist who determined she was severely farsighted (+10). We had a hard time finding glasses the doctor wanted her to have (no nose pads and cable temples). We finally found a shop nearby that has a large selection of baby and toddler glasses. The doctor promised me that once we got the glasses on DD she wouldn't want to take them off AND he was right. It took maybe a day and then a few days later we went on a road trip and she would sometimes take them off in the car (probably bored) so I would usually take them from her before we started driving (she doesn't do this anymore). She wakes up every morning saying I need my glasses and she even wears them in the tub and swimming pool. she has broken a few temples but we just get them replaced and she has to go to the optician every few weeks for adjustments but they tell me that is typical for children. I was very sad when I found out DD needed glasses but I got over it now people always remember my girl and are asking me "is your daughter the one with the purple glasses? She looks so cute!" So, hang in there.

She has had her glasses for 4 days, she has done pretty good. She hides them at least once a day, but for the most part she is wearing them. She's so cute in them...
