My Sweet Lydia is so mean and into everything. She has painted her body with nail polish, its hard to remove. She took an ambien pill, I was on the phone with poision control most of the day. She stuck a bead up her nose. She painted her bed and mine with nail polish getting it all over the carpet . I have 4 kids ages 13 10 6 2. Maybe we need more structure or something.. Im up to try anything,,,,help me....

I'm sure having four kids makes it harder to keep an eye on Lydia. It sounds like you have tobe on top of her at this stage. I would recommend keeping anything like that out of reach. Maybe put the baby locks on your cabinets and store some things up high? It sounds like she is curious and that can be a good thing when channeled. If she likes to paint a lot maybe get her some washable paints? If she loves the nail polish maybe set aside some time to paint nails with her? Hang in there!

Ditto what Piper said. My house looks bare because everything is put and locked away, so my son can have free range without getting into mischief (although, occasionally he still finds some way). Good luck!

Well I thought I got rid of all the nail polish and tonight she painted my couch with BLACK nail polish, yep my 1 yr old sectional. Her sister had no idea where the black polish came from but her toes were polished a beautiful black...hmmm Thanks for the advice, im gonna go through my stuff like that once again. I dont remember my other 3 kids being in to this much stuff..

Sorry about your couch. I had the same problem with my daughter getting into my son's room and getting pencils or pens. She wrote all over the walls, furniture, sheets (would not come out in wash). I thought I would go crazy. Now shes 3 and I give her her own markers etc..but I supervise. The other children seem old enough now to know what not to get into so maybe make a rule that if they leave polish, etc out then they would be grounded. Stress to them that if they leave these things out, it could hurt their baby sister. I always try to tighten the polish as hard as I can so my dd can't open it. Any meds I keep up high and in cabinets. The meds should have child proof lids. If she does it again, make her clean it up herself and if it doesn't come off, leave it on. I can't imagine having 4 kids. It must be hard. Good Luck.

I agree with the previous posts. Have rules for your older children to keep those things put away and out of reach of their little sister. Really explain that its not cause they are in trouble, but because it can hurt their little sister!

Locks, Locks and more locks. My 2 1/2 year old is the same way and is into EVERYTHING. We have every type of lock imaginable and they actually work. We got plastic dresser type things from walmart and put all of his toys in them and that is the only thing that he has access to. Everything else has a lock. Good luck!
