Hello,
My dd is 15 months old and still breastfeeds. She was eating solids and drinking soy milk up until about 2 1/2 wks ago. She got the flu, then a stomach virus and then suffered from a monstrous tooth coming in. Now, she's become the world's pickest little eater and dosen't even want soy milk anymore. Getting her to eat solids is time wasted (not really) but she doesn't want anything. I tricked her today and put spinach & tofu in a fruit smoothie; she drank a little but she just wants breastmilk.
Any of you experienced this? She's not sick anymore and is a wonderful, happy tot.

Just nurse her as she wants - it will help her recover and its super easy on a fragile post flu tummy. I would continue to encourage her to eat her solids, but definitely let her nurse as much as she wants, it's just a nutritionally supportive now as it was 3 months ago. I went through this with one of my girls that had ulcers in her throat and was afraid to try anything else that might hurt even if she was completely healed. She got over it not too long after and weaned herself a bit over 2 years old.

I agree with suzy. My daughter doesn't nurse anymore (she weaned at 20 months) but when she was nursing and had been sick she wanted to nurse a lot. Think about when you have the flu/stomach bug -- even after the rest of you feels better, your stomach still wants you to take it easy (I know, I just had 5 days of stomach bug this past week!). BM really is easiest on the belly and even though of course you should still be offering solids, it's not a huge deal if she doesn't want any for a few days or so.

This may not be completely on subject. But I heard on the radio, that it takes 15 tries/times to get a child to like something. Most parents give up between 2-5. Keep trying with the food.Heat up the soy?

I agree with the advice below - once she starts to feel better she will begin eating solids again. The best think for her now is breastmillk - you are keeping her hydrated and providing immune boosting nutrition!

She will come back to solids. Just keep nursing. It is a blessing that she wants to nurse since this helps her get better fast. I tried to give my 24 mo son a little bit of breastmilk (we have a little one too so I am nursing full time again) to fight a monstrous cold he had but I could only trick him into drinking a little. Every time he drank though he was much better the next day.
