My girls had it and outgrew it by the time they were 9 months old. It seems your doc might be right because that was right about the time they started eating solid foods. I will tell you that I have found that some foods still agitates one of my girls. Like oranges(which she unfortanetly loves), white grape and rasberry juice. My middle child had it and outgrew it.

My DD had it quite badly. It was silent reflux, so she seldom threw up. I started her on solids at 4 months because of it and within a couple of weeks saw a dramatic improvement. By the time she was about 7-9 months old she was fine.

They do actually outgrow it. The problem is that the valve at the top of the stomach that sops the food coming up isn't properly formed at birth, but it self-corrects, usually around the first birthday. The reason solids help is that they're more dense so gravity does a better job of keeping them in the stomach.

my girl had silent reflux too no spit up usually just ear piercing screams and arching of the back ect. we were on vacation when she was was 7 mo old and forgot to give her her meds for it two days in a row and no screaming fit so we just didnt give it to her the rest of the two week trip.
