We went cold turkey...I think it's best. You already cut back..there is nothing else U can do at this point. My daughter was over 2 as well..and we had a baby in the house..so it was a big struggle but it's gone:)

My son never used a binky but insisted that he get a bottle to go to bed even after he was strictly on a sippy cup during the day and his night bottle was the only one we gave him. We simply decided one friday night that we were tired of trying to be gentle and nice about stopping because it was not working at all, so we just refused to give in and give him the bottle. The first couple nights were rough but after 10 minutes or so he cried himself to sleep and still slept through the night. Most likely because it was a comfort thing, not really something he needed. A week later, he had completely stopped putting up a fight at bedtime.

I agree with n79, cold turkey is the best method. It might be rough at first but in the end it'll be best

We went cold turkey also a week in a half ago with our son(22months). I thought it would be hard and that he would cry all night but he didn't. I gave him a sippy cup with a little water in it to take to bed with him. And that seems to of worked. He hasn't asked for it at all. Good luck.

A friend of mine taught me this and it worked like a charm for us. I removed all but one binky from the house. Then we started telling our son that he was "wearing out" or "using up" his binky. Then I would snip off a little bit every other day or so. It finally got small enough that he didn't like it in his mouth and put it in the trash himself. We've never looked back.... Good Luck.
