My cousin's kids are 30 months apart and the older one was very jealous as well. I think it may just be normal since that's the first child and he/she is used to all the attention and now has to share with someone else. Her youngest is now 6 months old but I could still see hints of jealousy from the older one, although she says it's not as bad anymore. She just tries to make time for the older one, just the two of them. If she plays with the little one or kisses him or shows him any kind of affection, she does it to the older one as well so that he doesn't feel left out.
I certainly hope it gets better for you. I also hope it won't be too bad for me :-)
Now for the shocker. Tristan has taken to giving kisses. He kisses me on the cheek every chance he gets. Two days ago, he kissed Max. Keeping my fingers crossed that Tristan is starting to like his little bro.
Good luck with your little one, and congratulations on your new baby!
Now they are 21 months and 9 months, and they play together--it's so cute! The little one laughs at eveything the big one does; it's fun to watch them together.
Good luck to you!!
Either one is upset, or the other is. Sometimes, they have their bad days together. There doesn't seem to be much of a break- it can be a bit hectic. Try to get some mommy time in so that you can be relaxed and handle the situation to your best ability. If they are not letting you take a break, separate them into different rooms and give them some quiet time. That's what helps me keep my sanity! :o)
((hugs to all of you moms here))
You're all doing great!
Did you buy a double stroller? If not, how did you deal with taking two small kids out at once? My DD isn't walking yet (13 months) and I'm due with another. They will be 16 months apart. I don't think DD is close to walking at all and don't know if she will be by then, so I'm sort of thinking that we're going to need a double stroller, but I don't want to get one if it's unnecessary. Someone I know told me that when her second was born, her first was already walking (they are about 2 years apart) so it really wasn't an issue and they didn't buy a double stroller. However, I'm not sure if it'll be an issue for us if the older one isn't walking yet. What do you all think? How did you all do it? Thanks in advance!
However, when they were 12 months and newborn, i used (actually I STILL use it when i go shopping) the baby trend sit and stand. you can put the infant seat in the front and the older child in the back. If it weren't for that stroller, I would never be able to go out to a store (the jogger is too wide). They sell it at TARGET for about $130.00.
months butttt he's still not at the point where he can walk up and
down steps alone, nor wuld he know not to leave my side....so he's def
in the stroller when we're out....I want to get the sit and stand
strolller someone mentioned tho, that's so light weight compared to a
double stroller, adn for a day that I'm just wit the nb and not my
toddler, it will be easy to take out....and light!
I'm glad to report that hell week was just the first week! My son has
gotten so much better thank god! He's still very curious, tries to
"help" but he doesn't know that he's too heavy for him, or he'll rub
his head to hard, grab his hands and feet and maybe pull him to much
but he's def coming around!!! Ty all for ur posts I appreciate it
The double stroller I have is linear, not side by side. There is also a chair under the handles for a toddler or older kid to hold on and sit. It doesn't have a seat belt, so I made one of my own with clips and straps. I won't touch a side by side stroller. A year ago I took DD in for a specialist at the hospital. A woman had a 3 yo and a 7 month old in a side by side. The 3 year old was tormenting her younger sister, poking her while sleeping, throwing bottles on her head, and pinching. I'd rather have the girls secluded and peaceful than put them through that!
