My fiance and I are leaving for 1 week to an all-inclusive vacation in Punta Cana in less than 2 weeks and I'm starting to feel sick to my stomach; nauseous in fact! At the time we booked, it seemed like a good idea. My fiance kinda talked me into booking months ago and although I knew it would be hard, I had no idea it would be this hard. We have only left her one time with my mom over night, 3 months ago, and even then, it was very hard. I couldn't even sleep and she was only 20 miles away. I'm usually so excited for a vacation (it's been years) but I'm starting to dread this. We're leaving her with her my fiance's mother who has watched his sister's kids (there's 3 of them) numerous times, for weeks at a time. I know she's in good hands but I feel so guilty and I'm so worried she's going to be angry at us. Has anyone ever left their toddler for at least a week? How did you do? How did your child act torwards you when you got back? Any suggestions as to how to cope leading up to this?

We are bringing our touchpad so we skype with his mom so she can fill us in daily on Ava's activities. We're on the fence as to whether or not we should skype with our daughter. I'm thinking that would probably confuse her and upset her more. What do you all think? I'm thinking maybe we can skype just to see her but not let her see us.

My girlfriends with older kids keep assuing me that she won't remember when she's older and that we need this vacation. However, it doesn't make me any better.
