Parenting Teenagers (12-18) Support Group
This community is focused on the joys, challenges and concerns faced by parents of teenagers (12 to 18 year olds). The major areas of child development include: physical development, perception and sensory development, communication and language development, cognitive development, emotional development and social development.
I don't think that the extent of your daughter's withdrawal is normal. Is there an activity that the two of you used to enjoy that you can get her help with or advice about? Maybe try some familiar or new steps to little by little, one step at a time, increase her voluntary participation in activities outside her room. Also, maybe think of ways, or areas in which,
you can be appropriately open about your life to encourage her to be more open about hers.
Teen years can be tough. Think long-term..
Best wishes.
