I know I need to get some help for myself, and am getting around to it. I do things for myself, such as taking different kind of classes, exercising, walking, working. But I do need to go to counseling. I did for a while but I breezed through it like a good little lady. I think the counselor we have here on our reservation are not totally trained to take on the issues that most of us here face. There isn't enough training for them to push past the mask we put on so that we don't have to sit and talk to someone. you know what I mean.
And thank you for your words they have helped.
I know I should call her and open the door so we can talk. I have to work on my listening skills, when it come to my children.
I was brought up the child should be seen and not heard unless spoken to. And then we could say our piece. It was very strict when i was growing up. That was back in the day when abuse was not talked about. I still feel uncomforable talking about it. I think that they should just listen to what I say and be done with it. I forget that sometimes they have a voice.
