Parenting Teenagers (12-18) Support Group
This community is focused on the joys, challenges and concerns faced by parents of teenagers (12 to 18 year olds). The major areas of child development include: physical development, perception and sensory development, communication and language development, cognitive development, emotional development and social development.
Four months ago, on the 19th, the oldest boy I take care of, ROY, age 14, became sick during the movie after watching Alvin and the Chipmunks. We latter found out it was due to stress in the house, abuse and domestic violence. He still lives there, sad to say. Then he wanted to see the movie and I let him...he now is having problems again. His brother, 12 and sister, 5 also watched it with no problems. HAS ANYONE ELSE heard about anything like this. He is a Christian and we do talk about the "fantasy" of it all and he understands movies are make believe, not real. He does not have a father, never did and his mom raises him with his step dad.

Also it may be he is having problems at home again. Or something triggered the memories of the problems at home. He needs some counseling and may need to leave the house for a while.
