Things will get better.
Just stay calm and give it time.
Sooner or later he'll have problems at dads also and he'll be back.

I just went thru the exact thing with my 15yr old son! He lasted at his dads house for almost a month. I did spend alot of time crying. Thank goodness we had just gotten him started recently going to counseling. Dan was able to tell the counselor that he wanted to come home. While he was gone I would usually get v/m on his cell phone, so I would just leave messages saying I loved him & hoped things were going good for him. I figured as a teenage boy he would want to try spending more time at his dads, but I thought it would last longer than a month.
I like to read, so to get me thru the difficult times I got a couple of books from the library about teenagers:

I also contacted the school counselor & e-mailed his teachers to keep an eye out in case he needed someone there to talk to.

It is heart breaking i know. My boy and i are estranged and have been for a long time. he took a wrong path with bad consequences. You sound like you're trying very hard and maybe his dad could be spoken to about not letting him have too much of an out? it will get better over time. Have patience my dear I know that's hard to have . The book mentioned above is a good one btw. Best of the best to you.....

First off Thank you all for your kind and supportive words. I spoke to his Dad and for the 1st time he is responding in a positive way, thanks goddness his GF she has a level head and can help him be logical. we talked about what had happened, and we agreed on the same basics such as not handing him $ not letting him dictate to us about where he gets to stay. I know things will work out but man it's hard to let go that 1st time. I just want whats best for the boy. But bottom line is I can't let guilt make my decisions.

Here's the update,
Son came home on Wed. That was such a relief.

I spoke with his Dad who was surprising supportive, this is not usally the case, but we came to some important agreements. There will be no more running away to the other parents. That neither one of us will just give the kid money whenever he wants. But all around for the 1st time I think we are on the same page.
I do believe that he may have found out that the grass is not always greener on the other side..
I really appreicaite everyone input and thoughts. Thank you all so very much...
