That said all therapists are NOT created equal but we had a brilliant one for my son and it was well worth the visits!
He always starts the summer the same - excited about dad's house, all he/they can do, etc. By the time summer is half over he's disgusted with his dad - wants to come back home.
The laundry list of complaints is long. Dad only feeds me drive-thru. Dad never cleans the tub. Dad has a different apartment/girlfriend each visit. Dad promised me this but then said I couldn't because I didn't (fill in the blank). Each year he's promised to go to Six Flags, Disney, etc and each year he's grounded and can't go.
Let the kid go through enough of this and they figure their dad out for what they are - then won't have anything to do with them. My almost-19 year old went on same visits to same dad with younger brother until he was about 14 and then said no more. They don't even speak now. He says a whole mom is worth more than a half-a$$ dad.
ROOM SHE NOW KNOWS WHAT A BAD MAN HE IS TO BAD SHE'S MARRIED TO HIM,,,,,MY SON'S GOING TO BE AL RIGHT WIT OUT HIM,,,ALRIGHT.
