Parenting Teenagers (12-18) Support Group
This community is focused on the joys, challenges and concerns faced by parents of teenagers (12 to 18 year olds). The major areas of child development include: physical development, perception and sensory development, communication and language development, cognitive development, emotional development and social development.
Getting more involved will most likely damage your friendship. Giving them a wake up call is probably the only choice besides ignoring it. It is a shame they are not more aware.
Even though your friends are professionals, and in the mental health field, it doesn't mean that they are able to accept what's going on with their son. They could very well be in denial. It's one thing to provide mental health services to strangers, but it's completely different when faced with issues with your own relatives.
Good luck!
