not strict enough with our kids

I get told constantly that I am not strict enough with my children. I was wondering if any one else get that kind of criticism.

I was just wondering why...people feel like they have to tell me this. It hurts my feelings and makes me feel incompetent and makes me wonder do I have any business being a parent.

I have not been told I am too strict but I have been told I have spoiled my son and made him "entitled:" in his mind.

I googled spoiled entitled teenager and sure enough it fits my sons behavior to a tee. We don't have a lot of money so I wasn't sure how I spoiled him. But, we do everything for him and expect nothing in return. Apparently, being spoiled isn't just about money.

He is 15 yrs old now and we have a few years to try to turn it around. He is extremely unhappy as he sure like it when the world revolved around him, but that is not real life. He is rebelling and has for about a year, but he is finally starting to come around and realize he has to have some personal responsibility.
