My son is 19 & I've been a single mom to him. His father has been in and out of his life for his 19 years. Just brief visits or child support here and there. I couldn't of asked for a better son. As my friends referred to him and I" Best Freinds".We did so much together. He changed as soon as he turned 18. His father became a permanent figure in his life & slowly my son slowed down & eventually stopped all communication w/me. It devastated me until I had no choice but to let him go. He moved out of our home right after graduation with no goodbye. It's not that I wanted him to stay forever or not that I don't want him to live life, it's just that it's the was he did it. I raised him to be such a good person, I helped him to graduate. I was such an advocate to his education and I showed him the world the best I could. I feel as though now that the hardest part of raising him was over his father just brainwashed him and took him. I don't just mean him leaving with him but taking the son whom I raised for 19 years away. He reaches out only to my two youngest children his siblings but never wants to speak with me. He's told family that I was an awful mother to him and I was mentally abusive and he grew up in a bad I environment. They don't buy it of course cause they know how loving of a mother I was but why oh why is he doing this? It took me a year but I've accepted him leaving. I don't call him anymore or try to persuade him any longer to open up to me. I do love & miss him so much. I just keep hearing from others"don't worry he'll thank you one day &I realize you were a good mom. Is this true? Will he? Does anyone have any similar experience . Thank You..
