I will admit, I didn't push myself or have anyone pushing me in high school and because of that I got mostly a's and b's. my goal for my kids is to make honor roll which they usually can.
talk to the friend and explain to him that it is your child, if you want his opinion you will ask for it and if he doesn't like that he can find somewhere else to live. if he is living with you there must be a reason why he didn't succeed
1) To be functional; this means following a routine and doing what iss needed to an acceptable degree, even when we do not want to
2) To have a drive; this means that we know how to push ourselves when we want to; whether in athletics or academics ... politics or church ... just able to add effort
3) To love someone; knowing how to make sure that the feel loved and respected.
Many men feel that their role is to 'fix' things and must think about their actions to avoid overdoing this character flaw.
Thanks again for all your support.
