Parenting Teenagers (12-18) Support Group
This community is focused on the joys, challenges and concerns faced by parents of teenagers (12 to 18 year olds). The major areas of child development include: physical development, perception and sensory development, communication and language development, cognitive development, emotional development and social development.
I have been a good mother for 17 years. This is the first time I have ever had charges pending on me. I kicked my daughter out of my home because she told me some unforgiveable things that wouldn't fly with me. I tried very hard to help her get situated so she could be a independant person. Since she was 11 years old I have tried to get her through school, she was in public school, then we home schooled her, and then we tried alternative ed., none of them worked. So now she is enrolling in GED classes in the fall. She said she was taking her applications around today, but she is drinking alcohol daily now. I have tried to keep her home, since the charges were pending, I go to court on the 12th of July, but she is doing nothing to help me, Even though I am trying to get her signed up with counseling, and getting her a job, and taking care of her needs otherwise. But in her eyes, I am at fault, I am still in victimization mode from when she disclosed about her step dad, when she was 11.
I have been working full time since she was 11 years old to provide for them and pay debt I have accumalated since then. I have the help of my Aunt who she is supposed to be staying with but since the charges has moved out and moved in with other people. She continually has a boyfriend that I don't approve of, who are usually over 18 years old. At one time she was with a 28 year old, of course I didn't let that go on to long.
It's just one dilemma after another with her, I am ready to just turn her over to the authorities and let them deal with her. But that wouldn't work because we have no juvenile detention center here, she would have to be taken like 50 miles away from here. So we have little support in our area.
So I guess I need to get some info or support from others who may have been through this or are going through this at this time.
I am emotionally drained from her situation. I have even resorted to gambling at times just to zone out. I know that isn't the best thing, because it eats me out of my money, and so I have changed or filled my evenings with Zumba classes, and try to stay away from the casino. So any one with info or support or encouraging word please share. I could use it.

Well after the meeting this woman name Fran went running up to E's mother and said you should practice tough love don't tolerate this nonesense and was giving her advise all over .. the advise was not asked for.... another AA went up to Fran & told her to stop. It was crazy and Elizabeth ended up using again.. and well moving out... I don't know were she is today... Tough Love is not always the answer.. my life experience is my mother loved me unconditionally thru my addiction... I would lend my car to drug dealers to keep using, I would play taxi driver to keep using, I would take a cab home and have my mother give the cab driver extra money so I could keep using. My mother was my greatest enabler and best friend but she also was my worst enemy. SHE loved me unconditionally no matter what and Thank God she did! THANK GOD! I got sober in God's time, due to my mothers prayers not my fake family's prayers there just controlling monsters who think there GOD...My mother use to say I am here and when you God wants you to stop you will and God has more power then I could ever believe cause my addiction was horrible.. So again thanks to my God and my mother I have been sober 12 years... My family use to say, she can't stay sober something is wrong with her! Just to prove them wrong .. by the grace of God its been twelve years!
