Another potty-training topic...
My 2.5 year-old wants to wipe herself, and we don't let her, cause she of course wipes back-to-front. She can't reach far enough to go front-to-back. I've explained to her that her hands are too short for that, she asked about other kids, and I said all other kids in her daycare need somebody else to wipe them. Only when they get to school, do their arms grow long enough.
She bought that, but now I'm wondering, did I get that right?
At what age do kids start wiping themselves? Boys/girls?

My 6 1/2 year old started when he was about 4 1/2 or so, but he still isn't that good at it. Complains sometimes that his hiney "itches".
You could also let her wipe the pee-pee while you wipe the poo-poo.
We also use the flushable wipes (at home) and they help get everything nice and clean.
