Thanks for the link.
It should be pointed out there are no recommendations for vaccinating less than 6 months of age (slightly misleading in the article).

Thank you for bringing up your thought about vaccines. It is frustrating that we don\'t always have an answer as to why things occur with our children. Does genetic predisposition play a role? Yes...to some degree. Are environmental factors involved? Yes, but to what degree and which ones we can\'t always clarify. Its frustrating because as parents we only want to do the \"right thing\" for our children.
I am a public health advocate first and foremost. This begins with the simple task of handwashing and continues on to vaccinations. I rely upon good/solid research and maybe a bit of \"gut instinct\" to feel comfortable with the vaccinations available today as they have prevented much mortality and morbidity.
Anyone else with thoughts on this?

Have you ever read stuff on NVIC.org. Very good site for educating parents. I get newsletter updates from them and am appalled at some of the things I read.
I am against the combo shots as it seems like they don\'t have the efficacy of single shots. I am opposed to the multiple shots they give at a time, it wears down the immune system.
I have read on the NVIC site that with my eczema and hay fever that my children should not have had pertussis. Why is every child just lumped together without looking for family histories of anything? I am against the vaccine program as it stands today.
Have you read any of Dr. Blaylock\'s work?
I am totally against the new vaccine for girls that is being made mandatory. It has not proven safe but was rushed through to get on the market. I forget the name of it (cervical cancer one) but keep my NVIC newsletters so I could look it up.
What upsets me is that parents are being forced, more and more, to get their children vaccinated. This country isn\'t about choice anymore. My youngest won\'t be getting anymore shots before he\'s two and we will relook at things then. I believe his breakout was vaccine stimulated.
Too much, too soon. When we were kids, we didn\'t have many vaccines, nor did we have the major developmental delays that have traumatized the last generation (20 years or so).
Obviously, vaccinations have really become a hot topic over this past decade. While I don\'t want to turn this community into a vaccination debate, I\'d like to reply to a few points and then hopefully end with the thought, we agree to disagree...and just respect others\' opinions.
I have viewed the NVIC.org site and although I appreciate and respect its existence, I find it quite bothersome that one of their icons on the home page has a link for \"lawyer referral\".
In response to the combination vaccinations, the research I have come across has shown similar efficacy in comparison to individual vaccines. And if the efficacy is similar, less needles is obviously better as children are not always in favor of the process of vaccine administration, in general.
In regard to pertussis, this can be a devastating illness in a infant/toddler. We now know immunity does wane as people age and with the adult population at risk, it certainly puts the child at risk as well, particularly the non-vaccinated ones.
As a parent, we only want what is best for our children. My goal is always to be respectful of the fact that there are many parenting styles and approaches in achieving that.
