Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1) Support Group
Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
I do have to say and please don't smack me, but Lillie has ALWAYS slept on her tummy! I know I know, but she never slept thru the night if she was not, and she has slept for at least 10 hrs straight that way since she was 2 months!!!! Congrats on the nose!!!!! :)
Grocery bags were still brown paper bags back then also.
Just wait, your daughter will wonder what planet you were from when she is your age.
I am doing this the second time around and even though at times it seems like all the rules have changed, I know I did not kill my grown children, and not all things that I did were so bad!
I Know how you feel about yoru baby looking like your husband and not you... My baby looks NOTHING like me either!!.. Looks EXACTLy like my husband... baby didi however get my ears (which stick out majorly !!!! so husband always jokes... oh he got your ears.) :)
And I do agree that by the time ours are older, the rules might change yet again.
Babies will have to be put to sleep suspended from the ceiling by wires or something. (That actually sounds quite fun.)
I think every friend of mine born in the sixties and seventies has a picture in the family photo box of themselves as a baby on a blanket, on the floor next to some sort of spirit. Mine is a bottle of Budweiser and I'm bloody buck naked :) Nowadays you could literally be arrested for taking a photo like that but back then it was a right of passage....baby meets daddy's "other" love. The way my mom tells it, her OB smoked during their routine check-ups when she was pregnant with me & I very clearly remember riding squelched up in the hatch of my Mom's powder blue pinto on the ride to school, for fun of course :)
I agree, sleeping suspended by wires from the ceiling does sound like fun. Personally, I think I'd wake up with a lot less backaches and stiff necks sleeping that way.
