Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1) Support Group
Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
I had a baby in November and I'm in Michigan. I literally haven't been out of my house in about a week. Because I'm nursing him I won't leave without him (he adamantly refuses to take a bottle). And because the weather is so awful I won't take him out. It's not the cold so much (even though that's part of it), but for me, I just keep thinking if I go for a walk the stroller won't make it because of all the snow and if I carry him, what if I fall?
Good luck with your decision! I just keep opening all my shades for sunshine and walk up and down my stairs as much as much exercise as possible.
I would take her out in her stroller on nicer winter days. She would wear a onsie, pants and long sleeved shirt, socks, shoes, a light jacket or sweater, and a hat, then I would bundle about three blankets around her in the seat, she had a carseat cozy over it, and another two blankets were draped over the stroller to keep the wind out. Lol. I would check her often to make sure she wasn't sweating, because if they sweat then get a blast of cold air at all there's a good chance illness will follow.
But if you are worried about outside why not take your LO to the mall and cruise around? Or some massive store like Walmart?
Good luck.
I also have a moby wrap. I would put her in that and then button my coat over it.
