I have an 8 week old girl, and I cannot get her to go more than 2 hours between meals. She drinks about 4oz of formula at a time, and that usually takes an hour. She gets one long nap that lasts about 3-4 hours during the day. Other naps, if any, last between half hour and an hour. She also sleeps for a 7-8 hour stretch at night.

Is there a way to get her to stretch out the meals?

I see you posted a couple weeks ago, but since she's only 10 weeks old she's probably still eating every 3 hours. You're supposed to time from the start of a feeding so that's why it seems like every 2 hours instead of 3. She'll be having 5-6 bottles (depending on how long of a stretch of sleep she's having at night) a day about every 3 hours for a while. Nothing you can do about it unless you want to give her an extra ounce or two every few bottles to see if she's ready for more and that will hold her. At only 10 weeks old you can't even distract her with toys or something to get an extra 15 minutes. At that age, when they want to eat, they want it NOW! Plus if she were to go longer, she wouldn't be eating enough daily and you'd probably find that out at her next weight check.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I get concerned when people keep telling me that their babies did things differently. I sure hope her daycare center is ready for her on Monday. :)

You would think I would remember these things since I have a 7 year old. It will come back to me, I am sure.
