So my baby is now 8months old and is still spitting up. Not just spitting up here and there but really spitting up. He has been on med's for acid reflux since he was an infant. The med's are supposed to help the pain but not the spitting up. We finally switched him over from Nutramigen formula to Enfamil Sensitive. Per Dr's order he has been getting rice cereal in every bottle but it has not been helping. He spits up EVERYTHING!! It is so gross! He goes through multiple outfits a day and we (my husband and I) are covered in it as well. Other people (friends and family) don't even want to hold him because the spit up smell on him is so bad. He gets a bath every night and we wash his neck and all those little places where that spit up can hide. My question is has anybody tried the Enfamil A.R.? Does anybody know of anything to help us with his spitting??? I would greatly appreciate any help we can get! Thank you!

My son was an olympic caliber spitter. I totally understand where you are coming from. I breast feed but have supplemented with formula and I used both the enfamil and the Similac and I never noticed a difference. But you are almost at the finish line. He started getting so much better right around 9 mos. He still spits up but no where near where he used to. It is no longer a rare day that he comes home from daycare in the same outfit he left the house in. Good Luck.

My son has been on AR since about 6 weeks (the first 8 weeks was BM and formula mixed then all AR) he still spits, but it is far less with the AR in his system than anything else

You might try swiching to the Similac version of the Nutramigen. It is called Allementhum (I don't know if I spelled that right) and it is in a purple can. My son spit up a lot and had allergic reactions to the similac but the nutramigen fixed all the problems. Maybe it is the opposit for your LO. Enfamil is a soy base formula where as the Similac is a lactos base. I don't know if it would work but I would talk to your doc and see if that might be an option to try.

My son was the same way. We tried the Similac Allumentum and he was throw up city...Nutramigen was the trick for us after just one bottle. So maybe like Charity said your LO maybe just the opposite of our LO's. I hope you find an answer soon....a throwing up baby s miserable.
