Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1) Support Group
Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
2 of my SIL's both had GD. The first one (my brothers wife) did NOT have it with her first pregnancy but DID have it with her second and third. My Other SIL(my husbands brothers wife) had it with her FIRST pregnancy but NOT with her second. I also had it...but I've only had one baby so I dont know if I will get it again.
I know my brothers wife got tested very early on in her third pregnancy just because she knew the signs and the feelings. She felt much better once she was following the diet and keeping track of her sugars. She did have to take an oral insulin with the 3rd pregnancy.
So basically....you could get it again, but it would have nothing to do with what you put into your body. You cant cause it by what you ingest. But you could get lucky and not get it....thats kind of a crap shoot I think. Did any of that make sence??? lol Its late and I could be writing a whole bunch of mumbo jumbo....haha
