Mixing Motrin or Tylenol with formula

Has anyone ever tried mixing motrin and or tylenol with the babies formula - so that they drink the formla and get the pain med. at the same time? My daughter gags up either drug when I give it to her in a dropper (she is teething so she NEEDS it). Just wondering if anyone has tried this and if it seemed to work - or if it is even safe as far as whether or not it alters the chemical makeup of the formula in a negative way. I am seriously considering doing this . . . any thoughts?

Yes, I do this all of the time with my daughter. I've been assured that this is safe by my doctor. I have such a struggle with controlling how much comes out of the syringe and getting my daughter to swallow the medicine otherwise. I've been doing this with my daughter for about 6 months and there are no signs of negative effects from it. If anything, it makes it easier for the both of you. She doesn't know that she is getting medicine and you aren't having to fight her into taking it.

I forgot to mention, when you mix the medicine into the formula (or breast milk, depending on your preference), only make up a small amount to assure that your child will get all of the medicine. I usually make up one scoop of formula, add the panadol (Aussie tylenol), make sure my daughter eats it all, then I make her other 3 scoops of formula. They do this technique all of the time in hospitals.

One thing to remember- make sure that the water is cooled.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
