FREAK OUT!!

I have a perfectly healthy three month old. I have poly-cystic ovarian syndrome so having my first child was a miracle in my own mind. Because of this my OB-GYN was hesitant to give me birth control because he wanted to make sure that he could establish my baseline first. Ummm...I'M PREGNANT AGAIN!!! And I'm totally freaking out. I shouldn't be shocked, I know, because my husband and I had unprotected sex but, he's gonna freak out- and I can't be excited. I always wanted to have kids and I even wanted to have another some day but three months later is really pushing it. I had a grueling 36 hours of labor the first time and I am having some vivid flashbacks of my first birth. I'm scared- can anyone share a success story of domino effect kids that might ease my fears a little bit? Thanks...

First, congratulations... you shouldn't freak out. Like you said, your first was a miracle and your 2nd is no different. The timing may not be perfect but it's a blessing.
My kids are far from domino (12yrs, almost 7yrs, and 11days) but my sister's oldest two are 11 months apart and my brother's oldest two are 15 months apart. In both families mom was very busy and had her hands full but the children were very close, they entertained each other, and though having two in diapers is a pain the 2nd potty trained early. It was wonderful to watch the kids together when they were little because they loved each other so much and were best friends. Being close in age your kids will always have a playmate around.

Congrats!!! But I know exactly what you are feeling. I got pregnant again when my DD was 4 months old and we were very happy but in complete shock that we were pregnant again and that it happened so quickly. Mine ended in a miscarriage and I was very very upset so do try to calm down and relax because I blame myself and the stress that I put myself under for the miscarriage. It will all work out and you will have a wonderful, close family. Good luck

I'm having a slight issue now as my husband is asking that I consider abortion, which I could never do. I'm firmly against abortion as birth control- as a matter of fact, while I feel that abortion has it's place in today's society, I really don't feel like I could ever do that. I've simply decided that a baby, no matter what the timing, is a blessing and I'm going to be happy and feel blessed whether I have to raise my children on my own or not. It's my job as a parent to fight for the lives of my children and that is exactly what I'm going to do. Thank you for all of your encouragement! It really means alot to feel like I have people that I can talk to that understand. You're all so wonderful.

Just wanted to add that I almost wish we had started trying for our second when my daughter was 6 months. Although the thought of two so close in age once made me break out in hives at the thought, now I think it would be so much easier than having two really far apart!
