Parenting Newborns & Infants (0-1) Support Group
Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
If the daycare provider is putting her down on her stomach you need to address it NOW. I am in now way trying to scare you but babies are far more likely to die of SIDS and other breathing issues if they are used to sleeping on their backs and are put on their stomachs to sleep. I would also adress the blankets because they are also dangerous since she is not used to sleeping with them.
It's a difficult situation, I know, but you will not be able to rest easy with your daughter there until you know she is being cared for properly.
My dd is 16m old and she just recently, within the past two months or so, started sleeping on her stomach - by rolling onto her stomach herself. We still put her in on her back, though, now sometimes we'll put her on her side if she's not sleeping to well.
I would ask about it if it concerns you. Maybe they meant when she's on her back she sleeps lighter until she rolls herself over. Also, if the blankets bother you it shouldn't be a problem for them to stop putting them in with her so I would mention that too. Or, if you want to and can, make a 'suprise' show up at the daycare during naptime and take a peek for yourself.
