Heh, raspberries. How cute. Especially, yes with food in the mouth. We're dealing with the constant drool over here. I'm sure raspberries are next on the agenda.
3-7 months.....ughhhhhhhhhhhhh
And how time does get the better of you when you aren't looking.
My little "co-sleeper" is now almost a year and a half and is no longer a 'problem sleeper'.
I suppose you can view this as hope to all of those moms (and dads) out there that are currently dealing with little ones who have no desire to sleep on their own (or, for that matter, sleep at all.)
It was a rough few months and I always did start her out sleeping in the crib, only to bring her into bed with me when she awoke later in the night. I remember as soon as she's lie down with me, she'd fall immediately back soundly asleep.
(Which, I will have to say, I do miss a little. It was sweet and cuddly...)
Until she got bigger and woke me up by poking my two eyes in or ripping my lips off. And when she fell off of the bed.
I was too much of a softie though, in the early months, to try the crying it out.
But by a little after 9 months of very uncomfortable sleeping, she awoke, and I was exhausted--so I turned the monitor off and let her cry. I am savvy to a pain cry and a cry that needs immediate attention, and what she wanted was to sleep with me.
I fell back asleep, and apparently, so did she. She slept all the way through the night until 8am.
Eureka!
Never again did I allow her to sleep in the bed. (I guess that sounds a bit cold-hearted...)
There have been a number of nights in which I'd have to get her back to sleep in my arms or in the rocking chair after she had woken in the night. (Teething like mad has been the main catalyst for this)
But I just placed her back in the crib.
So those going through something similar---don't fret.
It will get better!
I relate to this b/c already I've got my 1 month old daughter in bed with me and husband on the couch, too. I'm trying to plan a transition back to her own independent sleep and wondering if we should forgo the bassinet and just jump right into a bigger crib?
Once they get used to sleeping with you it's a VERY hard habit to break... my 4-year-old would still be in bed with us if we allowed it...
Good luck - sounds like things are improving somewhat??
