Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
I know they say that your earliest memories are age 5 or somewhere around there. And I've been told repeatedly that babies have no attention span and a short memory.
But for the last month my 7 month old daughter has been waking up in the middle of the night, at least three times a week, screaming. The only way to get her to stop is to wake her up completley, and let her stare at my face for awhile. Then she will slowly look around the room. She will touch her own face and tug at her clothes. And once she is satisfied that all is well she will let me put her back in her crib.
I have no idea why this is happening...or how to stop it. The screams at night are nothing like any other scream throughout the day. It's a unique cry and it's painful to hear.
Does anyone know if an infant can have a nightmare? And if so...about what?? Nothing traumatizing has happened in her life. We moved, and I guess the fits started after we moved....but other then that she has led an uneventful life.

i think babies can start having night terrors around 6 months old. does she have a night light in her room ?
my question is - has she started teething yet ? maybe a tooth is bothering her during the night ? my son had a rough night and he kept crying out in his sleep even if he had a pacifier. hes almost 15 months and i think he is starting to cut a molar or one of the back teeth on the bottom.
Her birth was easy....lol...45 minutes of labour and 3 pushes and she was here!
Last night we ended up sleeping on the couch together, and I hate co-sleeping, abd in the end she only slept for 6 hours total because she kept waking up screaming....and I'm paying for it today!
