So my baby is almost 8 months old and today I saw his tooth right gum bruised and swollen. How long will it take before it pops out? Poor baby has been soooo cranky and not sleeping well at night at all,I just wish his first little tooth will get here.maybe it will give him a little relief? My sister told me a day or so, is that acurate?

Ps I told myself that once he had teeth I would stop BFing. I am so nervous that he(and me) wont do that well. I will miss that bond and he hates the bottle.Sigh....... any tips?

A day or so sounds about right. Poor guy. Teething is awful for everyone. I too thought I would stop breastfeeding when teeth came. My son only bit me once, it hurt soo bad, but he learned not to bite and we still breast feed morning and night at 13.mos. So don't give it up if you don't want to just for teeth. Good luck, I hope it pops out soon. The first tooth was the worst.

I gotta say, with my daughter it took anywhere from a week to three months, for a tooth to come once it had popped up enough to swell the gum but hadn't come through yet. She is 16 months, and just got her 6th tooth. And she is a cranky teether!

Hopefully your little one has a quicker go of it! It may help, it helps my daughter even now, to sit down with him and feed him crushed ice bits. Marlow will eat two cups of ice chips when the pain is the worst.
