Feeding your infant and ensuring they are getting enough nutrition is one of the most important aspects of parenting during that first year. This community is dedicated to those who are nurturing a baby, whether breastfed or formula-fed.
My daughter is two months old and suffering from her first cold. I took her to the doctors and they told me she just had a little cold and that her ears were infected from it. I was given medication for the ear infection but told to let the cold to run it's course.
The thing is, I took her to the doctor a week ago. Her congestion has dissapeared but now she has this horrible cough.
Does anyone have anything that can help her get this over and done with? Or should I maybe go get a second opinion?
She gets tylenol before bed, about half the recommended dose because shes not even 11 lbs yet. She's not getting any sleep, and neither am I.
I just want to see her get better.

I've come to be a firm believer in second opinions. I switched pediatricians 6 times in the first year until I found one that clicked. I will be sticking to the pediatrician I have now until he retires- he's very good! :o)

Now she has a virus and not the H1N1, thank you god, and she has horribe cough. Once again they both have to run their course they told me and last night she had a fever so I called the Dr. and they said to give her tylenol only as need not every 4 hours because you don't want to mask the problem if it was to get worse and to watch her over all attitude if it changes we are to call right away.
They said to elevate her crib and use a cool mist humidifier. So that is what we have been doing. It's break my heart to hear her coughing like that. Her father and I both have the same thing to it's been very hard trying to care for her when we are both sick and coughing and trying to keep her from catching anything more.
